15 (15, 20, 20) (25, 30, 35) (40, 45, 50) (55, 60, 65) (70, 75) yards/15 (15, 20, 20) (25, 30, 30) (35, 40, 45) (50, 55, 60) (65, 70) meters in each contrast color (6 contrast colors total).

Sample shown in Marianated Yarns Playtime DK colorway Drizzly Day and Jujubee gradient set colorway Princess Quail. I highly recommend a machine washable yarn like Playtime for sweaters for kids! It’ll save you such a hassle when you wash it.

Needles: Size US 6/4 mm, size US 5/3.75 mm, and size US 7/4.5 mm circular needles with a long, 40”/100 cm cable.

Gauge: 22 sts and 26 rows = 4”/10 cm in Stockinette stitch on medium-size needles, or size needed to obtain gauge, one size smaller, and one size larger.

Notions: Waste yarn (for provisional cast on), 4 locking stitch markers, 3 – 12 medium-sized (.75”/2 cm) buttons, blocking mat, blocking wires (optional), t-pins, and tapestry needle.

Techniques: Provisional cast on, knitting in the round, picking up stitches, basic lace techniques and chart reading.

Pattern Notes: Here is a beautiful way to use that gradient yarn you’ve been coveting! This pattern uses DK weight yarn and traditional, top-down Raglan shaping, so it is very approachable. The show-stopping lace ruffles do the heavy lifting but are really quite easy to work.
