Product Description
Galadriel is everything a heroin should be. She deserves armor to wear into battle! I love that she is so demure but also so ferocious when needed. She’s everything I love in a female character. This pattern is a gorgeous tribute to her strength. When I discovered scalemail, it just spoke immediately to me and I knew I had to utilize it in my pattern for her. If you have never worked scalemail before, please don’t be intimidated! It looks a lot more difficult than it actually is. It’s very similar to working beads inline with your knitting. I have made a tutorial in the pattern to help you.
I have supplied my scales from TheRingLord.com website, using the “small” and “large” size in the Anodized Aluminum style, color “Champagne”:
Champagne Anodized Aluminum Scales
This is not the only scalemail supplier, but it was cheapest I found in North America and they had the most variety. If you are somewhere else in the world, you may find better/cheaper options on another site, just search for “scalemail supplies” or “scalemaille supplies”. Feel free to try scales made from different materials!
The sizing on this pattern span from a small woman up to a large man. Make sure you check your palm measurement to ensure you are casting on for the right size! This unisex pattern looks just as great on a man as it does on a woman.
