Product Description
Math and art come together to make a beautiful design in Quadratrix Socks! This design is worked from the toe up. It uses a bit of stranding to bring a pop of color to your wardrobe. This pattern was created to utilize mini skeins and really lets them be the start of the show!
Sizes: Small (Medium, Large) to measure approximately 5.25” (7.75”, 10.25”)/13.5 (19.5, 26) cm circumference when blocked.
Yarn: 175 (250, 325) yards/160 (230, 300) meters of sock weight yarn (approximately 10% in contrast color). Sample shown in Yarnaceous Fibers Salta Fingering colorways Stegosaurus and Ceratosaurus.
Needles: Size US 2/2.75 mm circular needles with a long (40”/100 cm) cable and size US 3/3.25 mm circular needles (optional, if you strand tightly when knitting), or size needed to obtain gauge and one size larger (optional).
Gauge: 25 stitches x 34 rows = 4”/10 cm in Stockinette stitch (blocked).
Notions: 8 – 16 stitch markers (optional, to separate chart repeats), one locking stitch marker, and sock blockers (optional).
Techniques: Toe-up cast on (use whatever method you prefer; sample uses Judy’s Magic Cast On; see the tutorials at https://bit.ly/2TiLu8j for help), knitting in the round, basic increases and decreases, basic Fair Isle (stranded) knitting, and stretchy bind off (sample uses Combination Bind Off: https://youtu.be/Z_c41p9vxqQ ).
