Product Description

Shawls are such a lovely garment to knit up, but I find them hard to keep in place while I’m going about my day! Enter: the flutter vest. It has all the elegant lace details of a traditional shawl, but features armholes so it stays in place. The lace for this design was inspired by feathered wings. The feathers are spare along the back and gradually increase in length and laciness to the end of the garment.

If you would like to work this garment to the short length, it will match the sample shown in the photo. If you have the yarn and the inclination, continue along the pattern to create an extra long flutter vest. I have designed the lace in the 2nd half of the garment to be no-roll, meaning you can stop whenever you run out of yarn and the piece will still lay flat! I aim to get every last inch out of expensive, hand-dyed yarns.
